The End of the Dark Lord: An Epic Fantasy Poem

Dark iron crown resting on a stone throne in a ruined cathedral

The End of the Dark Lord

1

The son of the world's king had died

Giving his life for valor's sake

Fulfilling what the queen had dreamed

The evil Dark Lord planned and schemed

With the cunning sly of a snake

As humans grieved and shore elves cried

Into minds 'n' hearts he spoke a lie

“Men and elves caused the prince to die”

If men blamed elves and elves blamed men

It was possible hatred might beconceived

And war could begin once again

This was how the Dark Lord plotted 'n'deceived

2

The king perceived a whispered word had lied

The deceit caused his heart to break

The anger inside of him teamed

Above all, truth must be esteemed

He had to stop this vile outbreak

And spread the reason his son died

Into minds 'n' hearts he spoke the truth

Of every elder and youth

Men and elves are not to be blamed

My son's life no one else could take

My only son was not ashamed

To give his life for valor's sake

3

The world learned the Dark Lord had lied

With the cunning sly of a snake

They knew the king's son had redeemed

Above all else, truth was esteemed

Bringing an end to vile outbreak

Love was the reason the son died

Every soul believed the truth

Redeeming both elder and youth

Men 'n' elves chose not to blame each other

And so hatred was not conceived

They would not fight their own brother

Their love refused to be deceived

4

The plot of the Dark Lord had died

The truth caused his heart to break

The anger inside of him teamed

He had failed in what he had schemed

With the cunning sly of a snake;

In bitter rage he would abide.

Chained by his own deceitful lie,

He cursed the truth he could not deny.

No one was ever to be blamed

Of a life no one else could take

Men and elves would not be ashamed

To give their life for valor's sake
