A cancer is eating away at our hearts.
Where love ought to reside,
Hatred for each other abides.
It divides us and tears us apart.
It has its roots in sin and shame.
We feel guilt within our own souls
Because of deep and dark holes,
So we find someone else to blame.
It takes courage to look deep within.
We must face our own pride
To let love reside inside
And remove the cancerous sin.
When we see our own faults
And confront our own shame,
We will cease to find others to blame.
Only then can evil and hatred halt.
When hatred and bigotry end,
We can turn enemies into friends.
